Snowed in on The Road 2 Elsewhere
Merry Christmas to all (who celebrate it), and to all a good trudge through the snow (if any).
This is my third Christmas on the Road 2 Elsewhere, which is plenty of time to develop a tradition, right? I did these sketches—first posted here in 2021—based on a favorite stretch on the road up Mount Blue Sky, which until recently, was named after a slaughterer of innocents, from a dark moment in Colorado history. But they wiped the guy’s name off the peak, which just shows you: Progress is possible. It’s happening every day, in fact. Here’s hoping for more of that for you, for me, and for the Rocky Mountains, in the year ahead.

And to all a good night!
In the comments, tell me where you’re headed in 2024.
I’ve got Banff, Nantucket, and a river cruise in France on the docket. But I can change that up if you have a better idea.
Happy trails!
We all need a good trudge across the frozen tundra, apparently it’s good for you 😂 . I will have visited three separate Christmas suppers, breakfasts and celebrations, fantastic! I know how incredibly blessed I am, amen. No real distance or changes in venue, but the socializing is now a real gift, WA-HOO ! Merry, Merry Christmas to you and yours young Peter, here’s to 2024’s gems. 🥰
I've got the backyard, the gardens, and maybe a couple of local hiking trails - life as a homebody can be good, too. 😊 Banff is a cool sounding name, though. Happy holidays and happy trails to you, too!
