Goodbye, Old Paint!

I'm bringing new technology to the Road 2 Elsewhere, and boy are my paint brushes PISSED! WRITTEN AND ILLUSTRATED BY PETER MOORE

FOR A YEAR AND A HALF I’ve been posting once, twice, or thrice weekly in this space, filling it with words and illustrations to comment on my life, on life in general, or just for the hell of it.

And there was in fact a certain amount of hell involved. Coming up with the ideas was the fun part, but then I had to render them in pencil on a sketchpad, ink those lines once they emerged from a pile of erasures, add the watercolors, photograph the resulting illustrations, do a time-lapse photo to post on my TikTok, edit them all for color and clarity, wedge them into my substack template, and then, finally, hit “send” to all of you.

No, I’m not whining. I love doing this, otherwise I’d be off enjoying all the stuff Coloradans do instead of working for a living.

And the more artwork I do, the more zen calm I’m able to summon up with pencil in hand.
