This Just In. And up!
Play-by-play and full-color analysis of the Big Play of the Day. Eat your heart out, NFL commentators. WRITTEN AND ILLUSTRATED BY PETER MOORE
THE NFL SEASON is now upon us, like a rash we can’t get rid of. Every Sunday, Monday, and Thursday, we’re treated to millions of words of play-by-play—plus thundering expert analysis—of an inherently silly game: Large men chase a ball that doesn’t even bounce well, and beat the crap out of each other while doing so.
America’s game. Typical.
OK, I admit it, I watch too, along with 58% of all Americans—including babies and toddlers, evidently. But listening to all that NFL chatter made me think: Why don’t we cover and commentate on something actually important?

What to watch for.
Crucial turning point.
All over but the shouting.
A look ahead.
And now, the post-sunrise interview.
Join us tomorrow, when it all happens again. At least, we hope so.
It exhausts me to keep writing this, but I need to: Do you know how important the paid subscriptions are to me? VERY IMPORTANT! They allow me to avoid actual work, and do something I love, instead. And if you happen to love it—or simply enjoy it thoroughly, or even hate it, but want to subscribe in a sarcastic gesture of mock-support—I’d so appreciate it! (Ditto for free subscribers, but with less warmth.)
Have you ever heard about the glories of college football teams, the University of Tennessee football, for example?
As it should be! Love this one.
