LAST WEEK I WAS OUT FOR A LONG BIKE RIDE, and came across a rafter of turkeys pecking away and contemplating their mortality. I stopped to warn them that they should perhaps be less front-and-center this time of year. They gobbled their messages right back at me: Ask not for whom the gravy boat stops. It stops for thee.
