Sketchbook: Estes Park, Colorado
You take the high road, and I'll take the low road. It doesn't matter which one, really. They're both amazing. WRITTEN AND ILLUSTRATED BY PETER MOORE
I SPENT THE LAST FOUR DAYS hanging out in a friend’s house, high above Estes Park, Colorado. (Thanks, friend!) There was snow, there was isolation, and there were things going bump in the night.
Especially after we watched The Shining.
The next morning, I was up early to admire the view, and of course that led me to pick up a pencil and really look.
There was an interesting pattern to the ice on the deck right outside the sliding glass doors.
At one point, a tree blocked the view.
But, OK, I guess the tree was the view.
Breaking news! A cloud drifted by,
and then dispersed.
I took in the long view,
And the close-up one.
And I realized they all belonged together.
Then I had another cup of coffee. And a doughnut.
Vignettes. Love 'em!
