Seattle Animation #4: It's gonna blow!
Mount Rainier is pretty. Pretty scary. ANIMATION BY PETER MOORE WITH A LOT OF HELP FROM FANCY TECHNOLOGY ON PROCREATE
ONE NIGHT WHEN I WAS VISITING FRIENDS IN BREMERTON, WASHINGTON, I awoke with a start, from a Mt. Rainier-related nightmare. The volcano last blew 2,200 years ago, so you know pressure…is…BUILDING!!!!
Oh, and there’s a major geological fault running through Seattle as well, and they register about 150 earthquakes per year. How does anybody sleep, in Seattle?
When I was there two weeks ago, I wanted to get away as fast as I could precisely for this reason. How gorgeous the area is. As for the quakes, I live in eq valley (zero emotional quotient, lots of earthquakes, however).
