AGAIN THIS YEAR, WE’RE HEADING FOR ESTES PARK, COLORADO, FOR NEW YEAR’S EVE. A friend has graciously offered us his mountain-side cabin, and we have greedily accepted. I’m expecting flashbacks to The Shining, especially as we drive past the Stanley Hotel. That’s where Stephen King was staying, with his wife and child, when he had a vision of how writer’s block might drive a guy bonkers.

Fortunately I’m not at any risk of production-driven mental illness! Or, am I?
