Among the more surprising things that have happened in my career was when, in the summer of 2022, I wrote an email to the Colorado Sun, proposing myself as a columnist and cartoonist. They said yes! Before I knew it I was dreaming of artistic immortality and making drawings of elk sex.
Hey, you have to start somewhere.
Two years later I am consulting with the Colorado Supreme Court about what else the justices should take on, now that they have thrown the Pumpkin-colored One off of the ballot. Pen = mightier than sword, and all that. Who knew that my pen (or stylus) would be making swipes at the high and mighty? It just goes to show: Be careful what you wish for, because somebody might ask you to actually do it.
